DaisyClay© has the unique properties that it can be colored with DaisyPaint water color from a tube. This contrasts eg to Japanese clays, that mix badly with water color.

By adding oil paint the properties of the clay change a lot and is not desirable. Start by rubbing some Pond’s on your fingers. Add small amounts of DaisyPaint to the clay and knead well until the desired color, the water in the paint makes the clay somewhat softer. If the clay gets too soft knead a little longer, so some of the water can evaporate.

Keep in mind the color gets darker when the clay dries. If the clay sticks to your fingers apply some Pond’s cream on your fingers again and knead well. DaisyPaint is non-toxic so don’t worry if your fingers get colored, this can easily be removed with water and soap.

If the clay is still a bit too firm to your liking, add some drops of water and knead

this well into the clay. See also “Repair clay”.
